a couple of highs, but mainly lows....
Well winter is upon us now and time to reflect a little on 2008.In fairness it hasn't been the best year i've had.Rain, rain and more rain, coupled with engine woes..... At least the car showed plenty of potential for the future at the Hot Rod drags and the national finals.Unfortunately the gremlins struck at the Flame and thunder show with a roller lifter failure.Lucky for us it was just on the morning warm up!! If i'd have taken it down the track it could have been a disaster(again). Hopefully 2009 will bring us some cheer. At least my loyal sponsors, friends and crew didn't let us down. These include Kustom Konsulting ltd,Mickey Thompson tyres,VP fuels,Nimbus Motorsport,Altiss engineering,Knight racing services,AET turbos,Electromotive,Zircotec,Trans World distributing,Activ8,Powerpour fuel additives,Nova engineering,American car world,Santa Pod raceway,Eurodragster,RPM magazine and Hilton Autogas.A special mention must go to all the people who helped us specifically to get to Canada with parts and help. Finally my crew of Wil Perry,Deb and Gary,Nigel Colwell and Rob Kearns for their dedication to the cause... So next year, what are we up to? We are going to try some different engine stuff next year. The heads are at RFD developments for rework,a new cam courtesy of Don Bailey of Ameritech and back to the MT 315 radials that we like.I was never totally comfortable with the ET street and ET front tyres on the car as it meant changing over for legal street driving.2009 will see us racing up the track as we drive on the stree again, which also means that on occasion we'll be running Shell V power and powerpour to get back to our roots...... The Street Eliminator class has just announced that MT radials are legal again for 2009.I will have to make a decision to go back early in 2009.It all depends on whether my old crew chief Tony Grayston is available, and if i actually have time to dedicate myself to a whole series again.Work is very busy at the present time and i can only see it getting busier, especially as the good name of Penn Autos/Andy Frost race transmissions is out there in more places than ever. You'll see here first what the plan is.I'm sure i'll be welcomed back with open arms by some, maybe not by others, not that it really matters anyways.... See you all soon,ANDY.
