As some of you will already know the follow up to the WSR1 is happening at Miramichi raceway,New Brunswick,Canada on August the 1st to the 3rd this year.Of course as individual and team champions the brits were asked to defend their title as soon as the race was announced.

Chris Biro, who was a partner in the first race in Louisiana and is now the head honcho of the WSR2 says"the brits, who came, saw and conquered at the WSR1 just had to come back to see if they could win a second time around"

At the time of writing only 1 of the 4 racers from 2005 will be doing battle due to the other 3 having a variety of other commitments.

The British team for this race at the moment consists of Jason Weir,Ian Jackson and Andy Frost, one with a proven 7 sec car,and the other 2 with proven low 8sec cars, although Jason and Ian are stepping up their cars massively for the race!!

Andy won't be resting on his laurels either and will be unleashing the cars potential in testing before the trip.

Logistically things have changed a great deal since the WSR1 in 2005.Fuel costs, shipping costs have risen dramatically, mainly because of the rises in the price of oil and "green" taxes on travel .They've even changed from the middle of last year!! A quote of £4000 for return travel for one truck and trailer has turned into £5500 now....You may think reading this that surely going by container would be cheaper? alas, after getting through the last journey with the cars unscathed, this time we wouldn't want to risk cars we've had for years dropping from 100ft off a ship on a captains whim!! In fact all 4 of the british team marvelled at how the cars made it back in one piece in 2005...

Of course unless any of you have done this before you cannot grasp how difficult travelling to the North Americas is with a vehicle of any sort, particularly if it has to come back!! The paper work involved is huge. For instance you cannot take any goods through customs without a Carnet. This has to be done through a chamber of commerce,of which you need to be a member, and you need to pay the membership fee..... As i said it's very complex for the uninitiated and only one in a long list of "paperwork".

Having said all that plans are all well under way for the team members, with all the cars in their respective workshops being fettled for the start of the new season.

We DO know that there's a lot of fans that have already booked their trip to Canada for the race and we look forward to seeing them and as always thank them for their support.

Of course if your company would like to support the british teams efforts then by all means contact Andy Frost on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

There is a nice sponsorship package available both here and in Canada, with live footage, dvd and website hosting available.

That's all for now.We will be posting updates on progress of the UK team as an when there's news....
