As you can see this is the first update for ages.I knew I'd damaged the engine at the last meeting but I didn't know how much until I stripped it fully.Unfortunately(for me see pics below) No2 and 4 bores are beyond honing and will need reboring. The engine is now out, stripped and in the very capable hands of Knight Racing services, who will fettle the block and supply all the parts for the rebuild(again!).As mentioned on www.fbracing.co.uk news page the old heads are also damaged beyond repair(for me anyway),again Knight racing have come up trumps with a pair of Grumpy Jenkins Merlin heads. The problem I now have with them is that they're not ported at all and the exhaust ports are 3/4" higher necessitating a full on porting job(££££) and heavily modified headers. This will leave very little time before the next CCSE round so it's going to be panic stations once again!.And I had so many plans for the 2 month break too! Bugger..
See ya all at Shakey.(i hope)
